The first generation Chevy Silverado began production in 1998, and ended production in 2007. This made the 1999 Chevy Silverado the very first Silverado on the Tilton streets. Due to its reliability and power, there are quite a few of these vehicles still on the Vermilion Chevrolet roads. Throughout the first generation, the body styles changed slightly, as the first year only a single cab and three door cab version was available. In 2000, Chevy added the driver’s side rear door to the lineup, and in 2004, a crew cab option was added.
For those who are looking for more power and performance, the SS model debuted in 2003, and includes the extended cab and fleetside box. The powertrain was upgraded and the interior and exterior design was enhanced. In 2006, the Dale Earnhardt version was developed in honor of the late NASCAR star, which was called the Intimidator SS. The heavy-duty version was developed in 2000, and the 1500 HD, 2500 HD, and 3500 HD were introduced. These HD trucks were equipped with a Duramax diesel V8 engine, and paired with an Allison Transmission, providing up to 300 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque.

The third of the Chevy Silverado generations ran from 2014-2019, and includes some of the most impressive upgrades yet, including the high-strength steel frame was now made from rolled steel to reduce weight. In 2015, a few of the interior and exterior designs were changed, including upgrade tow mirrors and 4G LTE technology. The front grille was changed for the 2016 model year, and four new paint colors were added.

The Electric Silverado is sure to be one of the best Chevrolet Silverado years yet, giving you the opportunity to enter the EV market with one of the most trusted names in the industry. The Silverado EV could produce up to 1000 horsepower with up to three electric motors. With the electric Silverado, you could get up to 400 miles in range with quick charging times as well.
